iNewsDigest ("App," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data.

Important: We do not require account creation to use the App. We do not collect personal identification information unless you voluntarily provide it.

• Device Identifier: A unique device ID generated locally on your device.
• Session Runtime: The duration of your app sessions.
• Session Metadata: Timestamps, app version, platform.
• User Preferences: Selected language, country/region, theme (light/dark), font size, and other UI preferences.
• Usage Analytics: News categories accessed, articles viewed (without depth/time tracking), search queries (locally cached).
• Crash Reports: Error logs and stack traces to diagnose issues.
• Network Logs: Technical details about API calls.

• Personal identification: Name, email, phone, address, ID numbers — unless voluntarily provided.
• Precise location: GPS or geolocation data.
• Financial data: Payment or banking information.

• Analytics: Aggregated and anonymized after 90 days.

iNewsDigest uses AI models (e.g., Google Gemini, Groq, DeepSeek) to generate concise summaries. Only article text is sent to AI providers — never your user ID, device ID, or any personal identifier. Providers do not retain article content for training.

The App supports English, Hindi, and Urdu. Translations are produced by AI on the server side. The text submitted for translation is anonymous (article body only) and is not linked to your user identifier.

Audio narrations are generated server-side via Microsoft Edge TTS and stored in Supabase Storage. No voice recording occurs on your device. Audio playback is client-side only.

• Essential cookies: Theme, language, and country preferences saved as cookies for SSR.
• Local storage: Pinned topics, recent searches, settings; never transmitted to our servers.
• Analytics: No third-party trackers; we use server-side aggregate metrics only.

We use HTTPS for all client–server traffic, signed URLs for storage, and rotate API keys regularly. Despite reasonable safeguards, no system is 100% secure; please report suspected vulnerabilities to the email below.

iNewsDigest may transfer or process data in regions outside your country of residence. We rely on standard contractual clauses and our processors' privacy programs (Vercel, Supabase, Google, Groq, DeepSeek) for cross-border transfers.

• Access: Request a summary of any server-side data tied to your device ID.
• Deletion: Email us to delete server-side data tied to your device ID.
• Notifications: Disable in Settings or via your OS at any time.
• Local cache: Clear by uninstalling the app or clearing site data.

iNewsDigest is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted in-app.
